Summer Session

This 10-week program will require a commitment to attend at least 1 session per week. However, additional weekly sessions may be offered as appropriate and when available.

Absences will be billed directly to the family regardless of reason. Make-up sessions will be offered only for absence due to illness and will be offered on an “as available” basis.

There will be a one week break (July 21-25, 2025) to allow for participation in camp or vacations.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • All patient families will be required to financially commit to attending therapy for 10 weeks beginning the week of June 17th. When your child attends their regularly scheduled therapy session(s), insurance will be billed (as applicable). If they miss for any reason, the family will be billed the full cost of the session directly within 24 hours via a credit card on file. There will be one week with no therapy (July 21-25, 2025) to allow for vacation and camp experiences. The 10-week session will end Aug. 29th, 2025. Make-up sessions may be offered on an “as available” basis for absence due to illness only and are not guaranteed.

  • We do offer teletherapy services! However, teletherapy is not right for every child or effective with every diagnosis. Suitability for teletherapy services must be discussed with the provider prior to the onset of services. In order to use teletherapy services, your child will need access to a tablet, laptop, or desktop computer with a working camera and microphone. They also need a quiet environment with distractions minimized for the best outcomes. Teletherapy can also be used for single sessions when a family member is ill or if the family is traveling within the state and unable to attend their regular session(s). Please make sure to check with your insurance company to determine if teletherapy services are a covered option under your plan.

  • Before beginning therapy services you will be asked to provide (as applicable):

    • proof of insurance

    • copies of current evaluations/re-evaluations

    • copies of IEP’s/progress reports

    • copies of physician’s reports

    • copies of records from previous private speech therapy providers

    All client will be required to complete an intake packet including;

    • Patient Information Form

    • Pediatric Speech and Language Intake Form

    • Treatment Authorization

    • Notice of Financial Policy

    • Consent for Telehealth

    • Signature on File

    • Authorization for Release of Information

    • Pediatric Medical History

    • Notice of Privacy Practices (HIPAA)

  • If your child is sick, please keep them home. Children who are not feeling well will not do well in therapy. Do not bring your child to therapy if they are suffering from any of the following:

    • fever

    • vomiting

    • diarrhea

    • flu or flu-like symptoms

    • persistent cough

    • unmanaged runny nose with green or yellow discharge

    • sore throat

    • skin infections (e.g., impetigo)

    • conjunctivitis (pink eye)

    • COVID

      Your child must be free of symptoms for 24 hours prior to returning to therapy or received a negative COVID test (if applicable).

      If your child has been exposed to a highly contagious illness such as COVID, fifth’s disease, chicken pox, or hand/foot/mouth disease, please call or email to discuss options.

  • Allowances will not be made for late arrivals, as the session will end at the scheduled time and will be charged as a full session.

  • Treatment may or may not be a covered benefit under your insurance plan. Each plan offers different benefits. It is recommended that you familiarize yourself with the benefits of your individual policy.

    Services may be capped by a dollar amount, limited to a specific number of visits, or only applicable to certain diagnoses.

    If prior authorization is required, it must be obtained in writing from your insurance company before beginning services.

  • Kids First Communication accepts the following forms of payment:

    • cash

    • personal check

    • debit or credit card

    • Zelle

    • Paypal

  • Parents are fully responsible for all charges, including but not limited to; absences, copays, deductibles, and non-covered services.

    Payments are due within 30 days of invoicing. A $20 late fee will be charged for each 10-day period payment is past due.

    Accounts 60 days past due will be sent to collections. Families will be responsible for collection costs, as well as attorney fees and court costs incurred.
